    Turbo in CA?

Who runs a turbo in CA? How do you get around them smog emission treehuggers. Went to the Avila Beach Invitational and almost every e30 out there had a turbo.

Why do you need to post if you're not answering his question? Sounds like he is already turbo'd or is considering one.

I am registering my car in Lake County which is no smog, so that is how I will get around that. I would say you will have to pay to get around smog.

I hope to be doing a small 6-8psi turbo b25

Mine will be turbo'd in the next few weeks, and I'm due for smog in January, but I'm getting a P.O. box in Jamul (small town in San Diego) where they don't require smog... But getting hood popped on the street is another story.

thanks for your informative answers everyone! I am considering it, would be used as a dd (whats wrong with having some turbo fun on my way to school?) and autocrossing mostly. Buttchug Im really curious to how the m42 handles boosting, doesnt seem like a sought after combo. You might be getting a pm soon.

Auto major ftw, I get stoked when I need to work on it. But a track specific car would be rad. NEED MORE TEST SUBJECTS

despite the snow and the fact that I can only drive my car 3 months out of the whole year, i'm glad to live in MN, no smog checks....;)

California is FULL of heavily modified cars, every make and model imaginable.

Needing a "special smog" is just a way of life. It's worth the hassle, I love SoCal.
