Removing my Turbo, Need some advice

Im going to be removing the turbo that came with my car, is there a quick write up on how to remove it or anything i need to know. i need to remove it because no one will work on the car with the turbo. I want to go stock M20.

What does your car need done? Many shops here on the forum have no issues with turbos. You could look into Castro Motorsport if you need work done.

It chokes out when i start to accelerate and eventually will die out. It wont start anymore, a mechanic suggested that the engine might need to be rebuilt, i took it to JMP but they told me in order to check the engine i would need to remove the turbo, which is something i want to do.

How old are you? Anyways, removing the turbo is a pretty involved process and without seeing the car in front of me, and not knowing your automotive knowledge, you may want it towed to a shop that can work on these cars with turbos....it isn't rocket science, but some shops have that policy

Removing the turbo won't necessarily fix this, and neither would rebuilding the engine.

No start could be any number of things. But an engine needs 3 things to run: fuel, spark, and air. Troubleshooting is a matter of narrowing down the 3.

I'll throw out a simple suggestion, check your fuel pump relay.

OP: Removing turbo is almost as complicated as going turbo. You're going to need to remove the turbo, intercooler, piping, exhaust, ecu, wiring, then put it all back together using the factory airbox, wiring, ecu, and exhaust.

It's going to get real expensive real quick. You should probably either get the car towed to a shop that will work on it, or sell it as-is.

That's actually a really good offer. Paying a shop to do it would be over a grand easy.

Why not leave it turbo and find a competent shop?

Not that I'd ever take my car to a shop but if one told me I had to revert my car to stock before they'd look at it, I'd laugh and walk away.
