    M20B25 Crankshaft weighs 50lbs/~22.7kgs

Posting this here as a reference, because I looked for the weight of this thing and found mostly people saying it weighed 130lbs+. Taken out of my 1989 US Spec 325i Cabrio.

130lbs? yeah, no way. I never saw those posts, but I thought it was commonly known they weighed around 50lbs.

Funny thing - forged cranks are often heavier, such as the fabled 324TD / M21 crank. And not really worth it since BMW cast cranks are plenty strong as-is.

130 sounds like a bit much for a block, tho.
        Hmmm.
        I have a scale.
        Block with crank in it?

S52 block weighs about 90bls. M20 is probably lighter, but it's been a long time since I picked one up.
