So my engine has been overheated. It leaks out of the water pump. I’m not saying the head isn’t warped I honestly haven’t pulled anything apart.

My plan is to get the block and head skimmed, swap the *ETA 3 cam seat head for the 885 *I head. My question is, will I need to swap out my ecu, electronics, intake etc. Or can I get away with just the head to get this engine running. I am aware that my compression ratio will be different, however I can get them to raise it with work on the head. Not looking for hp gains but just a running engine that works for application.

    thanks in advance,
    tony

Convert to Motronic 1.3 and have SSSquid do a chip based on your driving preferences and desired fuel. The combustion chambers are much different, so expect lower compression no matter what. With that said, it would be possible to run your Motronic 1.1 325e F.I.

if you are "not looking for hp gains" forget about the 885 swap and all that stuff just get the 200 head pressure tested to make sure it isnt cracked, and then get straigntened and/or resurfaced depending on findings. if you need a new head then worry about that when you need to and should be able to get an uncracked ETA 200 head for not too much they slightly less prone to cracking than the 885.
