piston to valve clearance will be an issue with the 288, the 284/272 just scrapes in but needs to be checked prior to starting.

catcam make some nice cams the 285/285 or 285/264 might be worth a shot.

I gues my best bet would be to just go ahead with a 272 cam with good springs and rockers and valves and a 3:73lsd... I gues it woul really help my car allot...

          Megasquirt
          288 Shrick
          Upgrade springs
          New valve guides (titanium maybe)
          M30 ARM
          Headers
Straight exhaust delete cat, with Remus muffler
          Heat shielded CAI

Of course your going to do a new TB and tensioner. Maybe New cam gears. Stewart WP. Underdrive pulleys, delete AC if you havent already. PS too if its a track car only.

I saw them on e46 fanatics... LOL...

Sounds good. Im pretty sure they are an alloy with titanium. Also didnt realize 288 cam would cause an issue. But, yeah.. can see how it would I guess.

                titanium retainers maybe.....
m30 AFM and megasquirt are a wierd combo, right. I thought with MS you could go MAP and get rid of the AFM.

Are u running ETA or SETA pistons? If u milled your head 0.020" like I did w/ ETA pistons, I'd check piston to valve clearance on even the 272. Stock "k" cam clearance on my engine is 0.065" intake...that's below the recommenced 0.080 i / 0.100 ex safe zone.
