Hey Forcedfirebird, when are you going to ditch that 60* stuff...
i sold all my crap awhile ago.. and don't plan on looking back..
Not going to happen lol. just got an order in for 8 sets of mixed l-body, j-body and w-body headers, I make CNC machined flanges to use larger TB's, port heads/manifolds, powdercoat, design custom cams etc. It's not just 60 degree v6's, I do stuff for all GM v6's. Have one customer with a 67mm turbo, my custom cam, heads that flow 48% over stock - last year he ran an 11 flat with 3.8 liters with a stock top end/small cam/small turbo, we are hoping for single digits this yr :D

I really wish I knew what I was doing with a welder.
Yeah I had no professional instruction for welding, been making turbo kits/headers for almost 4yrs, once people saw the work they started buying, later on invested in a TIG, never looked back.
Thought about polishing these, but because they are tight mandrel bends, they are too scratched up lol, probably will end up blasting them with 100 grit glass bead and clear ceramic coating them.

Fare enough.. it's making you money who's to judge..
Cost me more than it was worth...
I would be interested in knowing who's headers are just for show, and who's headers actually do work. I would assume that those sold by the likes of Korman or MM are actually useful, I'm on the fence about bavauto, and I imagine most of the ebay ones are just pretty to look at.
Then again, that's all assumption.

I have dyno #'s and track times for the headers we built last year for the v6's. These will do the trick for my m20... :)
I did some quick calculations for one of my classes where I have chosen to build a set of headers for my pro3 build. With a general calculation L=(V*120)/N where v=exhaust wave velocity (1700-1900 ft/sec) and N is rpm of course (I used 6500-7000rpm) I got a primary length of 30-34in. When I did a more involved calculation I got around 34in. Somewhere during my research however, I read that anywhere from 20-36 inches long will give you peak torque, the difference is just when the peak torque occurs.
I too have decided that 1.625 16 gauge is the right size when compared to 1.5 and 1.75.
Would love to see any updates, I am just starting out fabricating mine. I need to figure out how I am going to route cyl. 4 & 5, the rest I have a pretty good idea of.

Anything you for thats usually over 1000.00 usually means it's a quality product that's had some engineering and testing with proven results. The old saying always holds true that you get what you pay for.
And John, can you make something that looks like the Racing Dynamics or BTB headers? :p

that's funny because the RD M20 headers are 1.625", 16ga primaries between 20-30" long..
NASCAR engines use tuned 1.5" and 1.65" primaries.
Length will depend on which reversion pulse you are trying to capture, ideally you want the sound to reflect off the back of the valve at a specific lift point to enhance a selected powerband by evacuation.
Sorry, no. This is a slow project as I have several cars on the waiting list now :(
Have to swap a Merc motor, do a head gasket on a m54b30, tranny in a Camaro, then my rear main seal/clutch, then finish this batch of 8 sets of headers for Chevy Beretts before really diggin in...
