I'm really only using this bottom end to get set up for boost, then once I am boosted I'll be building a 2.8L using m52 crank, eta rods, and B25 pistons.
So like I said I didn't build this cause I wanted a super fast N/A motor, I just wanted a way to really wake the eta up on a budget. I am still happy with the results though :)-Alex

I agree with everything you're saying. For NA there ARE better options, but if you already have an eta block and just want to wake the engine up, this is great. If I had to start with a 2.5 there's no way I'd go through all the effort of putting this block in. You gotta remember the people considering this 2.7i isn't because they want a high compression screamer... they either want a good boosted setup or they want more power than the stock eta for cheaper than building a whole new engine.

if starting with a B25 then a refresh would be the better option. Next step would be stroker matching the piston and head combo with decent CR a mild cam, nice exhaust and tune and you are making a nice M20. Above that i'd be doing bigger stroker and custom pistons etc etc....89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...
