I apologize guys, the car is no longer in the shape to be put on the dyno safely. 4th gear is gone and the driveshaft is noisy as hell. I won't be fixing it either, as I am about ready to drop the lsx in.
However, before all that happened, the car ran better with the chip/injectors. I used to be able to feel a few dips in the power curve on the stock injectors/tune. Now, it is smooth sailing all the way to 7k.
I can't say I noticed anything power wise, just a smoother, more enjoyable drive. However, for the price paid, it's well worth it.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

HOWEVER!
We do have a vert that we WILL be putting on the dyno. It will be a while still, as we have to do a 5 speed swap on it first. We do have all the parts, so eventually, this thread will provide the goods. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

Ahaha...I'll probably own the blue car in my sig with an m20 swap in it and an ebay chip before that happens, based on the rate that you've gotten everything else done .The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I bought an ebay chip for the same price. It works better than the BMP that I tried. Rev limiter was definitely raised. My auto tranny can shift at 6000 rpm now. Have driven my auto up to 7000rpm and top speed at 140 mph, fuel economy was 23.4mpg from Mountain View to Walnut Creek. This is what the stock E30 injectors I am running right now. Fuel economy at 70mph from Hayward to Walnut Creek is 29.7mpg.
I have the M50 injectors to swap over and I can't wait what it unleashes.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Well once I get the Zinno rebuilt I plan on doing dyno pulls. If someone wants a deposit or whatever I would gladly test various chips in 173 ecu's. (still at least 1 month out however)Comment

Just ordered this.
I read some good things about this guy so I decided what the hell, its $30 shipped. He claims that 17-19lb injectors are required, so I'm heading off to Crazy Rays to grab some M50 injectors tomorrow.
I will try to arrange some Dyno time. I'll run a baseline pull, then install the chip and injectors for a 2nd pull.
My plan is to put this baby to rest, and give some real results. Same day dyno runs too to eliminate variables.
Also, before someone says "24 horsepower haha". I just want to point out that I really don't care about how much horsepower is claimed, if I get 5 horsepower at the wheels, that's fine by me. I'm not doing this in an attempt to make my M20 a race engine, i'm doing it because it's cheap. :)Yea it will be more than 1 pull each as we'll have the dyno for an hour. One of the local shops has offered us some inter-shop cooperation where they will train us on their dyno and let us use it for a great discount price. So I'm combining a learning opportunity with some research for the forum. :DIt was actually your post that made me decide to go with this guys chip.
I have a few cars to work on this morning, hopefully i'll be able to close the shop early and head to the yard.Got mine too!
So I have had a few hurdles to jump today. I decided to go ahead and install the 19lb injectors first. Before you give me crap, remember this is about the horsepower gain from the CHIP only, so it makes sense to have the injectors installed for the baseline. Plus I didn't want to be taking up precious dyno time installing them.
Got the injectors in, I was a little concerned when I found that 2 came out missing their caps. After some careful consideration and inspection of the injectors themselves we came to the conclusion that they had been missing for a while. Nevertheless, we ran one of those bolt grabbers down into the intake to check for any loose items, everything checked out. After installing the new injectors we disconnected the coil pack for a couple turn overs to check for noise, all seemed well so I started it up.
I recommend 19lb injectors to anyone without a tune even. Idles smoother, and just plain runs better.
Then came the chip install (don't worry, we are working on getting dyno time, at which point the chip will be swapped back out for before and after runs) I removed the ECM to find a 153 in there.
That's OK, I informed my business partner that his Vert' that is just sitting will be a donor car for now. Swapped his 173 ECM into mine, and did a test start. Ran great. Then I installed the chip, filled her up with some 93 octane and went for a drive.
Honestly, I can't feel any difference other than a smoooooooth power band and the 7k rev limiter will be nice for auto-X.
lucky for us, the butt dyno won't be the only test to see for sure. We are hoping to get the car on the dyno this week or early next. Stay tuned for real numbers!I apologize guys, the car is no longer in the shape to be put on the dyno safely. 4th gear is gone and the driveshaft is noisy as hell. Tell you what buddy, send me enough money to pay for a new transmission, driveshaft, a new ring set so I can take care of my compression issue on cyl. #3, and a few hours of dyno time.Come on the forum, you are going to get it done. First post, I said that I was doing all of this because it wouldn't cost me too much money. That changed, so the project was dropped.
As I said before, this project is no longer in the cards right now. No need to get your pitchfork out. IF the cards fall back into place, then I will finish it.
I don't care if YOU get mad, because even if this happens in 6 months, it will be on the forum permanently. So plenty of other people will see it. If anyone wants to beat me to it, by all means I would love to see the results myself.

I am not mad, but why post something you are not capable of doing and go on and on for months with excuses.
Ok, sorry, so you got attention, my mistake.
