        I was going to say, your flywheel is backwards, the flat side faces the starter. You got it now.

            That is the way it was designed. Look at a manual flywheel, its flat as well. Good luck, when you quit questioning everyone trying to help and just do it, you'll get it.

                I want to know the reason, too. It does seem counter intuitive that the beveled edge goes towards the motor. What possible use is that bevel in that position?

                            It doesn't make ant noise? I have always thought that it is bevelled so the starter can engage and disengage easier
