I was going to say, your flywheel is backwards, the flat side faces the starter. You got it now.

That is the way it was designed. Look at a manual flywheel, its flat as well. Good luck, when you quit questioning everyone trying to help and just do it, you'll get it.

I want to know the reason, too. It does seem counter intuitive that the beveled edge goes towards the motor. What possible use is that bevel in that position?

Protip: wrap some electrical tape around your flex extention to stiffin it up. I couldnt get it on the top bolt until i did that.

I have had two automatic cars, so you can take my advise for what its worth, i can see from your picture that the flywheel is in fact in backwards.

To cut down on any transmission noise would be my guess.

It doesn't make ant noise? I have always thought that it is bevelled so the starter can engage and disengage easier
