Is ur c104 wired in correctly without the c104 u will get no spark at all as well as no fuel double and triple check to be sure otherwise get a early 87 harness and it should he plug and play at least it was with my car cuz it had the c104 and I just plugged it in no splicing required other than making a early to late adapter for my car

The harness is an 87 with the c101. Everything on the dme test tested out perfect except dme pin 1 to ground and I am wondering what could cause this.

Ive read a little about the in-line fuse in the trunk not causing spark but if it was blown could the dme still receive power??

Not talking bout the c101 the c104 is the 3wire plug right next to the dme in the glove box.
And it depends on how blown the link is cuz I made a mistake when I swapped my e to i.
I had reversed the power and ground at the firewall and it caused a no start but surprisingly it didnt blow the fusible link

oh okay. yeah the c104 is in correctly.
Im running out of ideas as to why im not getting no spark and it is quite frustrating

bad dme, coil, wires, cap/rotor, bad cps thats truely all that it could be lol unless its the harness which is highly possible. if u have another harness use it and if it runs that was the problem. double check your ground and power wires. the ground is always brown so make sure thats right.

the cps(also the gap is .040) and all ignition compents are brand new. I read that if the coil is getting 12v then it is not the dme(not 100% if thats true or not)
there are only 3 grounding points? correct? 1 engine ground and 2 grounding points with brown wires.
as power wires go there is the black wire coming from battery that is connected to the battery junction thing on passenger side and the red wire on the harness shares the same post.

no that just means the coils getting power what u need is a test light seeing if it flashes when the car cranks just cause the cps is new it could still be shit especially if its a facet brand cps ive heard bad things about them so best to steer clear just in case.

okay so if the test light doesnt flash as cranking should i replace the cps? Is there a way to test the cps to insure it is working properly?

did u measure the resistance to see if its even close to within spec if its not then replace it again just cause its new doesnt always mean its good hell ive had better luck with used parts than new parts.

edit: now i dont remember exactly if its supossed to flash but basically ur doing a voltage check to see if its sending the voltage that is supplied to the coil while cranking "if that makes any sense lol"

I touched the est light to the negative post on the coil and cranked the engine and the light did not flash while cranking.

                          should i get another cps?

Might as well just get a new one cuz if u have a facet cps that could be the whole issue

ANY CPS besides OEM is an issue. I had a bad CPS, replaced it with a non OEM brand and the car ran like crap! (i then tested it and it ohm'ed out of spec) replaced it with a genuine BMW CPS and no problems since.
