Yep. The crank is already drilled for it, so you just have to buy the bearing and press it in.Comment

Pilot bearing?
It sits in the end of the crankshaft and supports the input shaft of the manual transmission. It is not used with an automatic transmission.
It's part #1 in the attached. (7/86 eta car example shown)

If you get a new clutch kit the pilot bearing comes in the kit. A new clutch is cheap enough that you really shouldn't put a used one in, while you have it all apart just do the clutch job and resurface the flywheel.sigpicComment

In the process of an engine swap (my car is a automatic) but I bumped in to a small issue :
The donor engine is a manual, the problem is that the torque converter does not fit the manual engine. There is an extra bearing for the manual transmission. Does this mean I have to change out the crankshaft? It doens't look like it is possible to remove the bearing.
This is the automatic engine
And this is the manual engine

You remove the bearing and reinstall your auto trans torque plate. If you dont have a bearing puller stuff the hole full of greaseand use a drift close to the size of the hole.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com
