Ac/ power steering, trunk tar, windshield washer reservoir, stock seats, rear seats can all be taken out if you are really wanting to weight reduct.

If you haven't done it how about a lighter flywheel and maybe a 3.90 LSD? It wont gain a ton but its cheap. I'm all for lighter wheels as well.

Were those itb dyno runs done with stock timing? If not, that might account for a portion of the gains.

it was tuned with a standalone ECU at the same time so some gains would be from the better tune. i can tell you though that you dont get topend peak to peak gains like that with a tune on a stock m20b25.

I've done a lot of weight reduction:
              • All "cosmetic" stuff from the trunk is gone
              • Radio and all speakers are removed
              • OBC removed
              • Cruise control equipment removed
              • Put lighter 15" TRM wheels on the car
              • knee bolster gone
              • Fogs delete
              • Lightened flywheel
              • 3.73 LSD

Kept the sport seats, but they are not that heavy. Dont' want to spend a lot of money on aftermarket seats to save a few pounds. I remove the AC belt at the track. Car is already stripped about as far as I'm willing to go as I driver the car several times a week and like to keep the AC and washer fluid. Suspension is full spec e30 setup except I have adjustable front bar.

I appreciate all of the ideas and feedback. My next steps are probably m30 AFM and a tune. That will have to be down the road a bit.

                I'm coming back to this...

I'm going to bring up the M30 afm topic, for the billionth time. Is this even worth doing? I mention it because I happen to have an 027 afm just sitting in my parts collection. I have type 3 (genIII) 19# injectors I will be installing with my head swap to the previously mentioned head (272 cam and 3 angle valve job).

Is there a MarkD 93 chip for a 027afm and 173ecu setup? I've read conflicting information on this.

Any dyno plots to back up the tunes?

Depends on the tune you're asking about.

I'm just curious to see what the gains are in general... care to share a couple?

Here's one done back in December. Keep in mind the technology used to datalog is still under development, and may not be exact (for instance it only records RPMs in increments of 10 at the moment). I'll be releasing more as I get the chance to.
E30 325i (M20B25) with 272 cam, 19lb/hr, and some mass removed from the flywheel. Also exhaust and stock airbox/AFM. On a 200k+ mile engine.
