    no it is not necessary. just get a new set of genuine ones like pelican parts sell or you could shop around for other places like BMA parts etc. IMO make sure they are genuine if going for stock spec since valve springs are one of the most stressed components in the engine.

    schrick, vac (eibach), PPF, + others sell high performance ones but are not needed in your case they wont hurt anything should you choose them though
    89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

            I've been researching this for a while also, picking up a used motor this weekend to build... Anyways, on with the information! I've found these 2 threads to contain a wealth of info.





            Definitely interested in hearing where to get the crank adapter for $55.

              Well IE sells them (not listed on the website, but call), MM sells them, and I believe someone in the classifieds section.

                      And here on r3v "DerAffe" or something close to that spelling, sells the crank spacers. He's the guy with the short skirt band cheerleader swinging her ass back and forth in his sig.
