    Everyone's Favorite Subject (Oil)

Just curious to what everyone uses in terms of oil. I'm currently using Royal Purple 20W50. It's been working fine for 1K miles. I'm thinking of switching over to 10W60 next oil change.

      15w-40 diesel oil year around
      Mobil Delvac or bust.

20w-50 is recommended but isn't as sheer stable as diesel oil.

Royal Purp is already over doing it, 10w-60 is over kill unless your doing like 10k oil change intervals which you shouldn't be doing on a m20.

Diesel oil + 5k oci + whatever filter = squeaky clean valvetrain on a rebuilt motor.
The additive package in diesel oil is bolstered. When compared to regular oils, you won't find anything nearly as good without spending $$$ on top tier oils I'm talking about redline and amsoil.

15W-40 Diesel oil year round. When I lived in Wisconsin, I tried lower viscosity oil for January and February for better start-up, but once the engine warmed up, it was way too thin.

I've been using the Castrol Edge 5w50 for about a year and half. Seems to do the job and it goes on sale often up here at Canadian Tire, so I get it for a little bit more than I'd pay for dino oil.

                I like Rotella 15w40 dino for a daily-driven m20, and Mobil1 15w50 for a raced or boosted m20.

I use MOTUL 10W40 for street and lil bit sport :D but oil choice really depends from many factors, climatic conditions, race or street usage etc....

15w40 Rotella here as well, ran it in my diesel trucks for years. One truck was making 600+hp at the wheels and all it ever had was Rotella.

Another vote for 15W40 Rotella or Delvac in all my M20 engines.

AMSOIL Z-ROD™ Synthetic Motor Oil is specially engineered for classic and high-performance vehicles. It features a high-zinc formulation to prevent wear on flat-tappet camshafts and other critical engine components, along with a proprietary blend of rust and corrosion inhibitors for added protection during long-term storage. Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is designed to perform on the street and protect during storage.

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API-qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL, the First in Synthetics®, to do the best job protecting your engine.

                          Protects Flat-Tappet Cams
The lifters and cam lobes on flat-tappet camshafts common to classic and high performance vehicles slide rapidly against one another, producing high friction and heat. The friction between the two components can eventually wear down the cam and affect valve operation, ultimately resulting in lost engine power and reduced efficiency. In addition, these areas are splash-lubricated rather than pressure lubricated like other areas of the engine, which adds extra strain on anti-wear additives like the zinc and phosphorus in zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP).

AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is formulated with high levels of ZDDP to protect flat-tappet cams, lifters, rockers and other areas susceptible to wear. Its high-zinc, high-phosphorus formulation provides the extra wear protection these critical splash-lubricated components require.
I'm not a millionaire, so I personally run Valvoline VR1.

I don't know about you guys but when using 20w50, it takes longer to start to car and sound bad during start up. Switching to 10w40 solved all the problems listed.
