1992 325i, white smoke coming from the tailpipe! the car has been sitting since 2008.i just purchased the vehicle don't know much of the history of the car other then it's a 1 owner with 86k on clock plus title & odometer still works barn find pretty much. I check the most commen stuff to look at there's no mixture with the coolant & oil nor oil in the coolant,I let it run for awhile no overheating & heat works great checked around Between the block and the head bone dry coolant doesn't seem to get low the plugs look good not sure about cracked head or block. im thinking maybe Condensation in the interior of the exhaust some say could be a intake manifold gasket or maybe even the rear seal of the brake master,I would really appreciate if anyone could pitch any ideas need to figure this out soon
Blown head gasket??white smoke

was the car idling only or what? Take it out on the highway and really rip it around the block, making sure to watch the temp gauge. I doubt the head gasket is blown considering the cars condition...
probably just a ton of moisture you're seeing as the white smoke. like I said give the exhaust a chance to truly warm up and then report back. it won't happen if the car is just idling -
the car has been sitting for ages, you never know. if the coolant is not mixing with the oil or vice versa then you are probably fine. drive it like you stole it and report back. its also cold this time of the year, and some cars (e34s come to mind) smoke like this for whats seems like forever in the winterComment

I'm surprised this wasn't the first message posted. Running this engine at all is folly until the TB is replaced along with the WYAIT items and all fluids.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

Yeah I know definitely changing the timing belt & fluids as soon as possible just gotta sort this situation out.so I went to start the car this morning still smokes all the time non stop if I rev it smokes even more took nice 15 minute cruise the engine sounds heathy, I don't understand the head gasket on these e30"s are usually bulletproof & since the car still has low miles I just don't consider it being blow but you never know Jst don't want to rip the head apart yet if it's not gasketComment

Take a video and let us see how much smoke is actually coming out. If the exhaust is fully warmed up then there is not much of a way water can enter the engine except for blown head or leaky HG.Comment

Because it would suck to change the timing belt only to have a cracked head/blown head gasket and have to redo it.AWD > RWDComment
