    Found some old 885 squish band pics

    Don't take many pics of builds lately, but a while back I cut up a cracked m20 head to check out the ports and how the chambers/pistons relate.

          The piston to head clearance in stock form is about .060". If you look close at the block in the pics, the pistons are still down in the hole, whereas they are much closer to flush in reality (TDC). This was done to project the real life situation if there was a HG involved. ;)

            they seem to stick above bore by a decent amount in my experience upto 0.5mm depends on deck height of course
            89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...
