Is there a reason to do that after installing? [emoji848]

Anyone know what these things are? They came in the head set and they aren’t the valve seals or camshaft seal...

Just got the head back and it looks marvelous

Probably for the injectors, cam seal housing, vent tube, and thermostat housing.

12 small ones are for the injectors,
2 'medium' ones are for the bitch tube
Other one is for the intermediate shaft cover I think as the cam seal housing uses a thinner oring
              Big one for the thermostat

The smallest one, I don't know..

                  Ok here’s another one -

Is it just me, or does one thing not look like the other?

The left one fits perfectly but what is up with that other one? I’m thinking that’s not gonna fly...[emoji848]

                  Any insight would be great

That gasket is for 885 "i" head. Yes, return that crap.
Just shows you the size difference between two heads, crazy

FWIW the first time I opened my first e30 (also an eta) many moons ago, I was surprised the manifold gaskets were from an 885. Unsure if the manifold was ever removed in it's first 70k miles, but I am certain I was the first to remove the head.

That’s weird. Makes me wonder what difference it would have made. I let Rockauto know and am waiting on the correct gaskets. Meanwhile, plenty of other things to do before the intake goes back on....[emoji2]

                        Maybe by Christmas...?

No difference IMO. The physical castings are the same size, so they seal just fine. I keep 885 gasket sets in stock at my shop and have used the on eta's with no ill effect.

What brand gasket set you recommend?
