i know that you can put the eta crank and rods from a 325e with the seta pistons from a 528e...and u get a compression ratio of 8.8 but i was wonder how much power gain will you get from that?

I have heard that the ETA/M20B23 combo would do 180 RWHP, so I expect a SETA/i should do about there too.

A SETA/i combo is simply a m20b25 with a little bit longer stroke. If that little extra stroke gives someone 30whp I'd be really really impressed. I think BMW would have made it that way from the factory if that was the case. People with fully built 3.0 strokers aren't even puting down that much. The stroke/bore of the m20 isn't the bottleneck.

I think I might have intended to put 180Bhp.
I just wonder what headers, full exhaust and MS&S would do for one...

- Displacement Stroke/Bore
- Cam 270+
- Light Port work
- High Compression atleast 10:1
- Longtube headers (good ones BTB, BAV, STAHL, SS not el cheapo ones)
- free flowing exhaust
- half decent tune (custom motronic chip is fine for NA)89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

@JGOOD: BMW actually DID make a 2.7 stroker from the factory, and this engine was offered along with the full MtechII kit in some countries. We have some in Lebanon. They're rated at 185hp as opposed to the 2.5s which are 171hp here. So that's a good indication of how much power you can expect from a 'stock' 2.7i.This is your M20 on steroids:
