On ebay there are a set of design 3's and there are another set of 19# but doesn't specify what design but they look older so I am guessing those are 2's.
I will look for the 2's

design 2's are the ones that are skinny then fat then skinny

Design 3's are about the same skinny size all the way down

mine have black where yours have silver but they could have been paint stripped. Those are most definitely design 2s

OK so I finally installed the '027' M30 AFM today. Idles like shit every time I start it, then smooths out after 30 seconds or so. Plugged the M20 AFM back in, runs fine. What gives? I let it idle for about 30 minutes after installing the M30 AFM, and then drove it to work and back to give it a good workout. Is there something I'm missing?

this may be worth a try, disconnect both battery wires, and touch them together. This completely clears any memory in the ECU. Connect the M30 AFM and then reconnect the battery.

This didnt happen to me but I'm just trying to help.

yeah, the M30 AFM was designed for a different engine with a different ECU and a different tune with a different calibration.

No, I also put on rebuilt 17.5lb injectors, 8mm plug wires and a K&N cone filter w/ heatshield.

i tried disconnecting several times, and the problem always came back. the new AFM i bought the guy said he adjusted it to work on these engines, he said he loosened the wheel 2 clicks and he said it worked perfectly.

I was under the impression that no modifications were necessary to the '027' M30 AFM
