    Valve springs; Schrick vs. VAC?

Who has the better valve springs for a high performance, cammed engine? Schrick? VAC? Who makes VAC springs? Does Eibach make spring kits?

I have never been impressed with VAC springs, specifically their retainers have a high rate of failure. I'd use Schrick.

depends what cam, neither might be good. way back when i bought springs from VAC which ive been using since 2008 they were made by Eibach but im told this is nolonger the case. Eibach have a EVS catalogue you can choose springs from but they probably dont do a kit youd need to spec it yourself noting that you can use the OE m20 outer/ innner to mix and match. i think there is upgrade using the large outer OE M20 spring (from 323i iirc) with an inner spring.
Schrick will be good quality but its a fairly mild increase in seat and nose force and wont be compatible with the high lift cams

8500rpm redline b25 using VAC with 288 - three seasons, podium finishes, no problems.

Other car has Schrick, 7400rpm, HPDE/track 2014-2017, converted back to a street car and semi-daily since.

Last two retainer failures were on 24v. Have never had an issue with retainers on an m20, even with stock parts and 7000rpm.
