That's a really good suggestion for all aftermarket rods especially with more budget ones and if you're changing preload on the bolt when upgrading to ARP rod bolts or something it's a good idea to check them and rehone as needed89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

Thanks for the forewarning, I'll be getting the rods & rotating assembly balanced & the rods checked over for anything untoward.
Thanks for the PM Digger I'll get in touch with Tony, I don't necessarily want to rush this so if he has a lead in time I'll be happy to wait.Comment

I would use whoever can do the job first. Either Rama or tk will do a great job and are the only two I'd give work to personally in the area as they both know what it takes to port a head properly and have done BMW heads before . Their engines always make good power with nice area under the curve so you can't go wrong.Last edited by digger; 07-13-2016, 04:28 PM.89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

happy with the final product of the cover

My head goes off to the get some love in 3wks time(feels like forever), waiting on the delivery of the adapters I'll get photos of the ports to show how they line up & how much material will be removed.
Working out injectors to suit I don't require a huge increase but want to give myself a little bit of head room considering the s38b38 injectors which are 270cc.Comment

Had a play with the adapters which arrived just over a week ago, picking up some new mounting hardware this evening. Like others who have bought these adapters fair chunk of meat needs to be shaved of the head to port match them. But it I had a smile on my face seeing them mounted(even if only a trail fit)

Had the e30 out that a euro meet on the weekend, then got to stretch the m30's legs on the way home through some twisty back roads.

The woodgrain rocker cover looks great mounted Anthony.
Any further progress on your engine? :D
It's funny how BMW made so many similar but different blues & silvers in the e30 run - your car looks quite different to my cirrus blue car, slightly brighter / bluer, where as mine is closer to a slightly bluish version of lachs silver. None the less they're only subtly different and actually my car parked next to a lachs car is also only a slightly different colour.Comment
