I am trying to get these lovely bolts off and the flywheel just keeps on spinning. I don't want to jam or put anything in its path because I don't want to replace it for broken teeth.
Air tools, or, put a breaker bar on the crank nut...
Yep a screw driver will not f-up your fly wheel if you have a friend sit on it.
Find a fat friend - or in a pinch - a emo guy and have him hold 100 pounds of tools - just tell him it going to be a awesome "my space pic ---he'll do it..

Well, I started taking the motor apart. I have mot of the stuff off the valve cover side and took the valve cover off. Things look alright, I think, dirty but alright.
I am not really fimiliar with timing on these cars. I have helped with the 61 vette, which was easy. Since I am taking the motor apart, I do make sure that the timing stays the same? Am I just going to have to worry about it when it comes time to put back together?
When am I officially going to mess up the timing of the motor? I was reading and it sounds like when I put the motor back together I want piston head 1 to be TDC to keep the timing correct. Is this some what true?
Alright guys. The motor is out obviously. The tranny seperated, all the electronics are off of the motor. Now I need just one more thing to get the head seperated from the block (I think).
What do I do with the timing chain? Do I have to go from the front of the motor or can I just loosen it with the adjuster and let it flop down to the bottom of the head and when I seperate the head an block it will come through the bottom?
I just looked through the bentley.. Is your head still on?
They show how to remove it with the head off... kinda. It's an eta one that they show. I looked in the reconditioning section and it says to look in the Ignition section. I look in the ignition section, and it says that there are two types of rotors used, then doesn't explain what to do.
