New Headgasket maybe? Give me a ring when you dive into it, I'm only like 15 mins down the road.

Will give a ring. In a month or so :P

Anyway, if I get e32 headers/downpipes, will they mate to an i exhaust without too much drama? Trying to save a buck wherever I can is :(, but is what needs to happen. This is a DD, after all.

Yes it shouldn't be very dramatic.

New gaskets and hoses make sense while the engine is out :)

Allright, found a motor. It's not "mine" yet, but will hopefully be so, soon.

              More questions:

Do I have to do anything goofy with the MC vacuum lines? I read Doughnut's thread, but he has an odd setup...

              Are E28 AC Compressors r134a or r12?

Will I need to lengthen the throttle cable to get to the B34 throttle body?

Will a Sparco front strut bar fit?

Will the E28 oil pump fit into an E34 pan?

Are you talking about the booster line? You will need a fitting on the manifold since it has to have a vacuum source. E28s with M30s all had hydraulic boosters so this will either have to be custom or you will need an earlier manifold from an E23 or early E24 with the correct fitting. Adding one is not a big deal though.

I think E28 compressors were all R12, but you can get the retrofit kits.

I used an M30 throttle cable and it fit perfectly. It was around $30.

I have no idea about the strut bar, sorry!

The E28 pump will work but you still need the pickup (the part that goes down into the sump) since the E28 pickup will not be in the right location.

My e30 cable fit perfect on my b35; I'm 99% sure that it would on a b34 as well.

The strut bar should fit fine as long as you don't use a e32/4 coolant reservoir.

Those are all I feel safe answering.

What oil pump did you use?

I used the e32 pump and pickup that came with my engine.

I see, thanks. For some reason I thought you had a B34, too.

Yep, he does. Everyone else that posts more than once in a while has a B35, though.

Is changing out the clutch a huge job with the m30?
Or is it just as easy as the m20?

No non-accessible bolts at the top?

It is a pita. When you unbolt the transmission support to try to get angle, the engine hits the firewall. The engine needs to come out or at least be dropped down a few inches in order to get to the top bolts. Same goes for a shifter rebuild, so do that stuff before you put it in.
