It's on hold for now, economy is affecting my job so... I have to watch my spending..
It's basically down to ordering the engine mounts/clutch kit/radiator/hoses and getting the exhaust figured out.Mtech1 v8 build thread - https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/sho...d.php?t=413205

What are good compression numbers for an M30 with north of 220K miles? The one I'm looking at has ~140 all around.
Also, if the head is taken off, is there anything I can replace cheaply and easily along with the head gasket? (May as well get a complete gasket kit and go through it.)
factory is 168-175'89 335is +turbo

Looking quite longingly at an M30B32 now.
I need a favor from someone who used an 87 eta driveshaft with no modifications: can you please tell me the model of the trans you used and its length from bellhousing edge to output flange? Need to figure out if the M10 trans I'm using is of a similar length.

i checked tonight, trans are almost the exact same size as far as the body, maybe half an inch different. Its the output flange that is different in length. The M10 flange is shorter by maybe an inch.
so overall i would say the difference is an inch and a half with stock output flanges, half an inch if you switched flanges
