    So what did you do?

i cleaned it with those pads as you suggested. the next day actually. haha
then once it was clean i lightly sanded it with 400 grit and then cleaned it with acetone. it looked better but still pretty awful. i'll post pics of that soon.
then i painted it. it looks INCREDIBLE. it costed $4 for the high temp engine paint. it's matte aluminum. the left side just has light on it that's why it looks different. the hood is just blocking the light, the whole thing is the same color.

Heheh- looks familiar, but yours is much cleaner :)

There is something pleasing about one throttle/one coil per cylinder, isn't there?

Interested also to hear how you approached tune w/ Motronic. I had to go all the way up to 24lb injectors + slight rail pressure bump before my wideband threw happy numbers @ WOT.

Stock Motronic with Ostrich 2.0 running a tune to work with the ITBs and 24lb injectors with an innovate LC1. PO decked my head, so my compression's a little higher than then the tune was for. Am yet to get it properly tuned for myself. The only internal work I've done is to rebuild the whole timing system, which was an amazing improvement. I had so much slack in my sprockets that I swear the cams must have retarded when you blipped the throttle. Next steps are a nice pair of cams, better exhaust set up then a proper dyno tune.

The only things that have visibly changed in two years have been the removal of the cosmoline on the AFM and intake and the addition of two years of dirt/grime.
