Don't kill me because this has been beaten to death...I've got an open 4.10 diff in my E30 318is. Worth swapping in a 3.91 LSD? I've got access to one for free and everything in me wants to do it but I'm not sure how much my "get up and go" will be on the torque yielding fury that is the M42 running a 3.91. Fuel mileage isn't really a concern, but I'm not sure how much of a difference the 3.91 would be from the 4.10. Thoughts?

Do it, if only for the lsd!
427 to 410 isn't a huge difference, but you can feel it that 427 is quicker and gears are ~7 mph shorter.-Christian

Do it. LSD > Open. You won't lose much acceleration, not that you have much to begin with. I remember how my car felt stock.
