When you had the shop do the work how did you let them know what you wanted? Did you just send them info, drop off your M42 crank along with it or what?
I dropped off both cranks so he could compare/measure the snouts along with the crank pulley to verify fitment. The guy had done a few of these before for another customer, so I didn't have to tell him much.

Finally got the M47d crank done. Dropped it off at CGM Motorsports over in Millersville, MD, and picked it up today. Got the crank magnafluxed, polished, balanced, had the snout grinded down to fit the M42 crank pulley, and new keyway installed. The damage was $200.. I think it's a very fair price for the work. what do you guys think?

since my m42 isn't my DD.
Go for it man.. sourcing the crank will be the hardest part, unless you want to buy new from dealer:-)

I'll post once is all finished up.. there's still a few things I have left to do. Get the M47 crank modified, and M42 crank bolt modified. Then reassembly.

Had some time today, so I cleaned cams and cam trays. The machine shop is backed up, and have not started to work on the M47 crank. I will pick it up tomorrow, and look for another shop to do the work instead.
