Block is done, bored, honed. Head is almost done, except somehow FCP sent me the wrong valve stem seals, not a big deal though..

Pic of oil squirter that go underneath the main bearings..I lost one of them:-(

If I raise compression, I won't turbo this engine. I'll turbo the engine that's in the car right now, later on. I'm leaning more towards keeping this one NA.

Thanks!
Question... why are you upping the compression if going turbo? Or are you going to run corn juice?Leave a comment:

Good looking build. What machine shop did you end up using? I'm out in Centreville and have a spare M50 laying around that I hope to start building into a high compression M50/S52 hybrid for my 318 in the next year or two.Leave a comment:

I'd be impressed if you can pull of a quality rebuild of a stroker M42 for sub 2k including timing gear. Will have to get the details from you at the meet.Leave a comment:

Thanks..bore 86.4mm, rods 140mm (m42), compression goal is 11.5:1.. if you know how to source, it doesn't cost that much. I will be less then $2k when said and done with this build, and this is including $700 worth of new timing components;-)Looking good. What are the specs going to be? Bore, Rod length, HG thickness, Piston Dish, Static Compression Ratio etc? I considered building a stroker M42 to replace my stock engine but when I looked into it the cost of a 2L stroker M42 build was more than a 2.8L stroker M20 so I'm going with the M20.

Small update: S52b32 pistons came in the mail yesterday. I cleaned 4 of them, and I'm about to drop off the block/pistons at machine shop in a little while.

From dealer about $1100 for a refurbished one with bearings.. used ones start right around $500 and up.. the Problem is finding a used crank.. they're not easily available

Thanks. S52b32 pistons should be waiting for me when I get home from work today, and the M47 crank should be in by Friday, hopefully.
