      Alright, thanks guys.

      Looks like I'm doing an entire clutch replacement basically. That's going to more then double the cost of this swap though :(

      But it's such a PITA to drop the trans. Like you said, do it right or do it twice.

        Do it right or do it twice. Change out the clutch with new parts

        I could only see the pressure plate and friction disc used in lemons racing; this is one situation where nothing is done right and depending on team the engine will blow up every 8-12 hours average.

        Lemons racing.... where clutches sometimes outlast engines. Everything blows up

          Any suggestions for kits that might have all the parts I need?

          It looks like my '86 325e (that this trans came out of) is a single mass flywheel?

          I though ETA motors had dual mass?

            After some searching, it looks like the ETAs made before a certain date were single mass, as mine is.

            Does anyone know if I need to keep the step in the flywheel when it's machined? What's the step height I need to tell the machinist?
