you'll have to come to Colorado if you want to look at the manual
i have a link to the factory TIS /manual online but it doesnt show trans dis-assembly

I have made my own bmw tool out of some piping and am splitting the getrag just like this
Damn that video and the bently made it seem so easy
So your in castle rock? I'm in denver, I might have to take you up on that offer and check out that manual. All I have is the bently and so far have followed the first few steps but either the bently or I seem to be missing a step
Btw I seem to have the exact same problem you had before( ix manual trans stuck in reverse)

just moved to Castle rock 1 month ago ,still settling in ,let me know if you want to stop by see some of my collection and shoot the breeze, or if you want help , have quite a few tools too
yup its a common problem (got my IX cheap because of that), be sure to check the allen bolt up on top and as your splitting the case i would remove it and Red loctite it . i did that to mine and the Z3 shifter upgrade ,new seals and its dry, tight and no shift problems in 20k milesAngus
