    E30 325i tranny swap

I have a 87 325i auto with 120k miles on it. I was wondering what are all the exact parts I would need to do a complete swap. Also if you can reply with all the details with every named part that would be great. I just need some sort of list, don't send links. I just need a part list. Thanks

swap with what? another auto, a manual?

either way, it's not complicated and the info is readily available. that being said, if you're not capable to researching, it's doubtful that you'll be able to take it apart and put it back together with everything working.

      start with realoem.com

        One Honda d series starter
        One Nissan ca18det camshaft
3 bolts from Toyota Corolla ae86 4age flywheel to crankshaft
        One sohc ej251 cylinder head
One dohc ej20k sti type ra cylinder head
One getrag Nissan GT-R-33 transmission with front diff
        One x5 e53 front driveshaft.
One Porsche boxer crankshaft from 2700cc boxster

        1. Remove Bmw engine and transmission. Throw away transmission
        2. Cut bmw engine in half with cylinder heads on; make sure the head is on so the block doesn’t get warped; cut it right between cylinder 3 and 4
        3. Take your cut in half engine block and use both halfs for the boxster crankshaft to make the engine into a h6
        4. bolt in the Nissan GT-R transmission and flywheel with those 3 bolts from the ae86 4-a engine
        5. Use the sohc ej251 Subaru head on the driver side to clear the steering shaft. This is important
        6. use the dohc ej20k cylinder head for the passenger side

Post on instafuckboi about how your e30 is now triple over head cam boxster engine configuration and has a awd with a ROFL WTF BBQ accumulator
        OBD1 M54/M52TU swap as a M50b25

I'm working on this too, gathering parts now. There are a ton of good writeups on AT/MT swaps, just search on Google and you'll find many sites and links to follow.

Figure on about $1,000 for all of the parts, another $800 to $1000 to install at an inexpensive shop, much more at other places. DIY is difficult, especially lying on the floor in a dark garage. You really want access to a lift to make this a pleasant experience.

Here is my list, gleaned from a variety of sources over the past year. Parts with an (x) are things I already have; still buying other pieces. I hope this helps.

                M/T swap parts list

                Transmission input shaft seal
                Engine rear main seal

                Transmission (x)
                Transmission oil
                Transmission crossmember (x)
                Transmission mounts (x)
                Transmission mount nuts (x)

                Shifter assembly (x)
Selector rod | Shift link w/washers and clips (x)
                Shift handle (x)
                Shift knob and emblem (x)
                Nylon cup and bushing (x)
Shift lever insulating rubber boot (x)
                Shift lever leather boot (x)
Lock pin for support arm (?)
                Bushing mounting nut (x)

Transmission to block bolts (set, you can reuse the bolts that came off your auto)
