Just depends how your c101-x20 adapter is made. The engine harness just has two wires from the sensor to the x20. Just connect whichever you need to your c101. For my 85 325e, it only uses a single wire for the gauge, and it's only a single pin sensor. So I just connected the c101 pin to the x20 pin that had continuity to the pin on the temp sensor plug that the m20 sensor uses.

Well I just found a lovely crack in my valve cover. That timing cover got smashed in the accident and I guess the valve cover took a little bit of damage too

The paint on this one didn't come out great anyways

Sorry for the lack of updates, the car is running good. I've been driving it, the clutch seems to hold the power. I got my x5 manifolds modified and on

I picked up some valve cover covers on ebay

And got my wires through the firewall.
A new diff is next and I need to fix my heat issue..it runs at or just below the 3/4 on the gauge..with the fan on high

just read your whole thread. great to see all the progress you have made. I just bought a 85 with this exact swap but most of all the hard work has been done by previous owner.

What's the weight distribution like with the 8 in the front?

Depending on the v8, anywhere from zero to 50lbs gained on the nose

up to 50lbs gained in the center of the car depending on the tranny

so really it doesn't change much.

^^^this. Also the v8 sits a lot farther back than an m20 does (four cylinders long instead of six)

So like 52 or 53 front? That's pretty good. I guess cause it's alu not an iron block.
                      Dammit guys, you're tempting me.

the radiator and cooling system need to be done, need the shift rod extended and exhaust put together. I like the set up you did moving the filter housing to the side to accommodate the top hose.
I will post pics of my project when I get home.

I havent decided yet if i can stay with beecher and his buddy again than maybe, but i really want to. My clutch is way to far gone for me to trust it that long on the road. Plus fuck highway with a 3.73.. Too annoying i miss my 3.25
