255s would be a heck of a start, my truck has 255s on it and it's very drivable with those. My buddy had a ctsv with 255s on it, although the caddy will drift very nicely with them, it's the ls2. I really wouldn't want anything much narrower with more power...

If you have traction control can you also do boost by gear? Almost don't need boost at all in 1st and have it progressively come in 'till full boost in 4th or something-Christian

No boost by gear with this setup, but I don't know how much I need boost when these motor can push 500 wheel no problem.
The unit I have matches wheel speed (front vs back) using OEM wheel speed sensors with the ABS and cuts off fuel to cylinders depending on how much slippage you are experiencing vs how much you want to be.

Ohh, the motor is not coming out. I get the hate and I was just saying I don't know if I could have done this to a blank canvas, but looking forward to putting 100k miles on this pig.
I live in Wisconsin. Its been in the negatives lately so the work that has been getting done is on the M62 E30 so I can free up some garage space. The M3 is getting completely torn apart, bare bones running, and built back up the right way. I'll update this with pictures as it progresses.

Would agree, except LS7. LS7 is a monster. 650whp NA with basic bolt ons? 350tq at 1500rpm stock. I'm sorry, I love the S62 but to say it's a better engine than an LS7 is asinine.
Fwiw, future LS1/T56 (LS1 block with LS6 heads) swap here once the shop is built.

In all honestly I don't have traction issues at all from 3rd-6th gear with 235 ss595's 3.46 gears. 430/485 and well over 600 ftlbs on the bottle. My e30 is a vert so it is a bit more heavy.
With higher gearing which Im assuming your gonna be running 3.73-4.10 and a lighter car I could see you having traction issues.Worlds 1st LS powered e30 cabby.
