    hold the presses

it can and has been done many times in the car with the head on the engine. (ask the spec e30 or mod guys) raise engine so that shafts will clear the radiator support. move all good rockers to the side of the valves as you rotate the cam. once the pressure is off the shafts will come foreward. of course best if you broke # 5 or#6 sets. you can even change the cam with the engine in the car and assemled. hint clean rocker shafts help tremendously.

if the motor is completely trashed, buy a used M20B25 for $500, drop it in and be done with it. if you can change the rocker without removing the head and paying out the nose though, do that.

Cant you see he wants an S50?
Thats weak, why stop at an S50 when you could also have FI.....then you could really do some racin'
Seriously though, I would almost shoot for a used M20 after seeing how bad the damage is. That would be your best bet and just replace the water pump and timing belt and your good to go.

How the fuck did you money shift doing 110? You probably had to like jamb the fucker into 3rd....? Anyway, dont let the crowd here get you down. We've all had our moments. NE way, get your shit ironed out, if I were you I would take that engine out, (assuming the rocker is fragged), and put something with a little less mileage in anyway. You will be killing 2 birds with one stone.
                              A. You will have solved your problem with the rocker
and B. You will have eliminated having to do a complete rebuild until a little further down the road.

the only reason i mentoned getting and E36 engine, was because i thought a new M20 engine would cost about the same, or more...

but i guess buying a used one would be OK...

hmm, i have a totaled 528e engine in my driveway..... engine only has 100k miles on it...

it's an 83' isn;t the block size about the same? actually isn;t it the same engine they use in the 325E cars? or is it to old to mess with it...
