how much to repair??

just had an ass clip me today morning as i was turning left into work and here is the result of it. :(

i have a rear plastic bumper on the way for the car but the rest has to be fixed. any idea how many hours of labour would be needed to fix it?

i dont see any other choice for the body shop but to try and get it back into shape as there isnt a panel that can be replaced.

It's not that bad.. I've seen worse.. Hell, I've caused worse..

down here, you'd be looking at about $650 in damages. That includes whatever misc. little parts that need to be replaced and the lights and stuff.

Then again, the cost of labor down here is a LOOOOOT less than up there.. so.. :(

I had a bad crease in my rear fender of my Tundra that would have cost at least 500.00 in L.A. done here in Mexico for 1300 pesos, about 110.00 I don't know how close Panamanian labor is to here but I would say 7000 pesos sounds right which is about 600.00.

There are two panels there. They are not obvious and are not bolt ins. It is repairable make sure the insurance company has it fixed right. You might want to start looking for another shell or an iX.

i had a very talented bodyman when someone smacked the headlight area and wrinkled it halfway down the fender on my ghia, who was able to pull it out and only replace the headlight bucket. which is nice since the body is basically one piece, nothing bolts on exc. the doors and hoods.

i think you're in a similar situation. but below the taillight looks pretty intricate and hard to get right, plus the seam around the trunk is off, so that whole corner needs to be yanked out. whatever happens, good luck, i hope it turns out ok.

just got an estimate from a body shop and i think its reasonable and the best part is that its doable.
i would hate to loose another ix.
while i am at it i am going to get the plastic bumpers , touch up the paint in the odd places.. etc
