Wow derail. Ziptie won't work very well as it'll leave a little portion of the circumference (where it passes through itself) without any seal, which I think is the main problem with that little useless clamp.

      Nobody's tried these?

There's people using them on a few other car forums I visit and they say they work perfectly.

I don't know, but I am going to buy them and try them out. I hate hose clamps and how they look.

I am also running the same rad too.

The first group buy of these about 1.5 years ago fit great, then all within the last year or so have had this issue.

Yeah, hose clamps are ugly to me, too. I'll see if I can find some pics from one of the other forums I go to. These clamps look bitchin.

That's fucking retarded. Why did I spend $240 on this Mishimoto when a stock replacement all-aluminum could be had for $60 less? It's not like my M50 (or anything short of a boosted S52 at the track) wasn't just fine with the cooling capacity of an M42 radiator.

Where? I'm in the market for a radiator right now.. Already have a nice fitting Mishimoto for one car from a while back. The other hot rod doesn't get so lucky.. stock replacement for the M20 car.

those welds are horrible though. better hope it doesn't leak.. or crack.

why not just get a new stock radiator? E30s don't really have the problems of cracking end tanks like the E36. a behr was like $100 when I got mine.

They're about $170-190 now...but at that price, you're not too far from picking up a mishimoto for about $230-250.

then you have to deal with the poor fitment issues. What's the real benefit of the mishimoto radiator? looks? is anyone really having cooling issues with the stock radiator? how many E30s still have the original 20+ year old radiator and haven't had a problem with a broken end tank? 90% of them?

I'm curious as to the necessity of the Mishimotos as well. Copper/brass is better at cooling than aluminum, so it's mainly for looks, IMO.

For me it's because I have an M42 rad that just isn't cutting it.

There are several guys here that rock mishimoto radiators and said that it runs cooler than the factory one.

My concern is keeping the temps cool when I'm:

                            -In traffic running the a/c
-At the track on a hot day

As mentioned above, they are known to keep temps down better than the factory units. I was under the impression the factory units were aluminum as well unless they're just dipped in silver?

Ever lift a copper/brass one? it is if not double in weight or more.

I got mine new off ebay for 200 shipped and some of the BEST welds I have seen. Just gorgeous.

I would have asked for a refund or a swap if it was like the pictures you posted.
