You should cut those big fat steel beams out of the insides of the doors too.

Remove impact bars from inside of doors!!!
Use Aluminum bolts for harnesses!!!
PS...what is all that shit on the floor behind the seats? Part of the uber-secret under development cornering shrapnel kit?

The way I understand it is as follows.
If you have a racing harness you need a racing seat because stock seats aren't designed to work with racing harnesses. And due to the fact that racing seats aren't designed to protect the driver in the same way, stock seats are, you then need a roll cage. And now you have a roll cage, you also need a helmet because nothing says fur raze like a nasty head wound from taking a corner too fast.
It's a long slippery slope. But of course this car has about as much chance of being allowed on a track as I have of being allowed back into the US.
just talk to Wells about his.
There's a local is a C5 with leather comfort seats and a 6 point harness WITH THE ANTI-SUBMARINE BELTS TUCKED UNDER, not even used!!! and no roll bar. Fucking idiotsLast edited by rwh11385; 04-25-2006, 10:32 AM.

fuck you budget beatoff. my seat cost less than $50
but the harnesses did not. still, they are "safer" than your off-brand ones.... even though I sold them after considering the risks of such install
cg-lock cost me $42 shipped and worth every fucking penny. it plus my SRD hold me in so well for Auto-X i don't even think about harnesses and just focus on driving
and a reclinable recaro is safe. and so is cg-lock. S - A - F - E

I love how on this site, everyone is point out the glaring idiocy of this "project", yet in his "official" thread on e30tard, everyone is ignoring him.
It's funny.

Hey thanks for ruining another e30. It's good to know that as the years progress and these cars become more rare there are people like you who have no problems totally fucking up an otherwise restorable car.
Thumbs up to you buddy!Yours truly,

Makes sense with those pictures taken in front of the section 8 housing the kid lives in.

Originally posted by nandoheeter, where'd you get the cg-lock? it is used to lock in the stock seatbelt, right? I can do it without one but it's a pain in the ass to get the tension right, and it comes unlocked if I move around too much.
haha.
it locks the position of the beat buckle. it can be turned on and off so you can release and readjust as necessary... and can also be installed/un-installed easily
"locking" or snapping the stock belt is a PITA. it also tightens your arms and thsi only does the lap belt, so you can steer easily with no loss of control noticed.
great buy. much better fucking purchase than anything budget beatoff has done
