If you're only changing shocks/springs, stop dicking with the control arms, tie rods and brakes.

Disconnect the top of the strut mount from the car, disconnect sway link, compress the spring(if using stock springs) and take off strut nut.

Pull/wiggle the spring out the side of the wheelwell while the suspension is at full droop.

Break the gland nut free and remove it, then slide the strut insert out through the top of the strut tower.

I'm not lazy, its a joke that when I'm away from my computer I'm being lazy, not when I'm at the computer. I have a seized bolt and may get a torch... I'm a busy person though.

I have figured out the problem after heating and then using jack to try and move the arm up. The bolt from the control arm balljoint is rotating with the nut. Damn, had never noticed it before until now. I tried jacking up the control arm but that didn't work. ideas?

if its still spring try and jack it up higher. you need that balljoint at the control arm to be seated very well for a rusty nut to spin off. also i suggest you get a long handled half inch rachet for the future. that will be a big help!

Soak it in PB blaster then go to the hardware store and buy a torch... They're like $15. Heat that nut up and use a jack underneath the ball joint.
