I thought about that Jordie, but the edge isn't sharp, it's been smoothed off, but I may do something there anyway.

As for the mod itself, I just got back from another run, and she was all good and warmed up, and OMG, it's like it just woke up. As if it had been snoozing and just decided to get up and get going. I really am amazed, and for the money, it's almost as good, at least on my car, as a chip upgrade.

I had a JC chip, and when I went to the MarkD 93, I noticed quite a difference. This is on par with that change.

Remember too though, that I have an extrude honed intake manifold, and with the MarkD chip, and the rest of the goodies, it really makes a diff.

What are typical shop charges for extrude honing? Say I took my intake mani to a shop, and asked them to do that, and maybe a port n polish as well?

          I've been debating doing this.

I currently have a Mark D 91 octane chip, and a lightweight 13.5lb flywheel, other then that the motor itself is stock.

I did have all 6 of my stock I injectors rebuilt, and my engine runs/pulls very well.

Are you simply running a stock Mark D 93 chip? or a special one for the injectors?

Are you planning on dynoing it or checking the A/F with a gauge/wideband at all? I'm curious to see how the engine is REALLY running.

The chip is just standard issue, I actually bought it from Jordie way back. No, I don't have a a/f meter, but really would like to have one. Unfortunately, I don't have a dyno anywhere near here, but it's rumored that Mobile, Al has one somewhere. I won't be on one for a good long time though, so don't hold your breath here.

I still have the BMP AFPR that I could install, and may yet do that. Dave picked up an extra ~3rwhp after adjusting his AFPR, so it's worth a little something, but right now, I am good to go.

As for how it's running? Funny thing is this, BEFORE I swapped it all out today, it was running rich AEB the smell of gas from the exhaust, been that way for a while. Now, AFTER the swap, it just smells like exhaust again. Not very scientific, no, but I believe it's good. Also, the idle is excellent, better than before, I'm sure due to the fact that the injectors
              are new.

As for the brackets, yeah, if anyone needs one, let me know. I will have to work out pricing, but it prolly wouldn't be a lot.

BTW, Eric came by tonight to pick up the BBS RS wheels for his car, and we did a little run. Yeah, he still pulls me on the higher end of things, but it was much closer than the last time we ran. Oh, and he's not stock either: Dinan chip w/Dinan cam gear, and test pipe sans cats. So, all in all, I think my little 325is is doing very well. I'm happy. :)

yeah, it's a little more fun on the top end... but it is nothing amazing.

after seeing how difficult it is to get a car to run right, the fewer mods the better. unless you have a chip programmed for it and the injectors... i'd shy away from it. that's just ghetto.

not to mention mark d's 93 octane chip and 17# injectors were several wheel horsepower more power than jc's chip and the m30 afm and 19# injectors. go for properly tuned over ghetto fucking r3v-rigged

I dunno, mine is running great, I don't see how it could be any better. It just is. Color me lucky. ;-)

no offense, but if the difference is like going from stock chip to an aftermarket chip, count me out.. ZZZZZZ... ;)

It's "naive" and that, I am not. I do however wish I knew just 1/16 of what you THINK you know, I would be effin genious. It must be great living in your head huh? You must be a god in there. In this world though, often times you're just an ass. Maybe you can be the god of ass, that might work.

The difference for me is a noticeable one, and for the money, it was worth the feel. It simply makes the car that much more fun to drive. Pulls harder out of turns and whatnot. That's enough to make me happy. If you don't like it, I don't give a shit. Why do you have to be so friggin negative every time somebody mods their car? I swear I don't get it. It works for me and that's all that matters. I don't need a dyno to quantify it, and as it IS running just fine, there is nothing that needs adjusting. IF it was idling roughly, or throwing off a rich smell, then yeah, I would see the necessity. It just ain't there. Sorry that tweaks you, but that's how it is.

anyone have credible comparisons of dyno results with the afm swap?

I know alex had a good chart on the JC vs. Mark D 93 chip . . .
