      First off, it's "genius."

This is hilarious, you have money for tons of high dollar mods but you can afford $50 for 3 dyno pulls? This is classic "mod list" tuning, slap stuff on randomly but who cares how it comes together as a whole.

It's laughable that you think "running smoother" means its running well, when you could be running lean like Heeter was. I'd rather be running rich like you were before than lean like you have no idea if it is now.

By the way, don't waste your money on an A/F gauge, they are useless unless you buy a wide band ($300+) and I know you won't do that.

Furthermore, how big of a difference could the switch from a JC chip, one of the best ones on the market, to a MarD chip (maybe the best chip on the market) be? Talk about placebo, I know the MarkD is better but the difference is definately less than 5hp.

the diff. was "noticeable" btween the chips, enough that I mentioned it.

          touche on the spelling.

I will install the afpr and i'm looking for a dyno now.

no wideband a/f meter for me.

why you wanna stir this shit back up after it's already died down? you're a day late.

.... to re-affirm is it you who were tripping out, and more than just me, teh Heeter, think the same as myself. (actually, i'm thinking in the same manner as Teej, than him as me. After more and more experience with a dyno, I shifted to agree with him more from the previous discussion about "fine" slap ons and the need for dyno tuning.

                  that would be highly possible...

he's adding in his $.02 and re-affirming it is not just heeter talking shit as usual, but it's the truth. which is good.

oh please. you computer geek, please tell me how that piece made by prestone will burst under daily driver conditions or auto-x....

it is not intended to be an absolute replacement, but rather a quick, cheap, and easy stand in. surely better than trying to attempting to gather supplies (which might not be close or in stock) and tools and do the gasket in a rush.

i wasn't planning on tracking this summer, but going to london instead.... oh well, i'll do it while i get my car ready for the tech inspection in march/april

How long did it take you to get the AFM dialed in right? Did you have any problems w/ that?

As of right now, it's not "dialed" in right. It does run fine, but evidently, it is not dialed in at all. I am in the process of making some decisions regarding engine mgmt. and dyno tuning.

LOL, I love Heeter again. Well played.

Robby, don't feel like we're out to hate on you, or show that we are somehow above you. I think we've all been there, throwing mods at engines and thinking everything is brewing fine. But one trip to the dyno will tell you...you're way off. Watching the MarkD 93 chip make just 1hp difference on the dyno (in front of 40 people, it was a presentation to showcase his work) was ego-flattening for everyone involved. Of course once we started analyzing the data, we realize the injectors were going completely open. Without this wideband-equipped dyno, I would have driven for years with this incredibly lean-running M20, still thinking I gained power.

In the engine modifying world, I'd say as much as one invests in parts, you should be spending at least that much tuning it to work with the rest of the components. Otherwise, don't bother changing a thing.
