I came away from a so equipped 325i wholly unimpressed, but I'm glad you like it Bobby

Well since this thread stirred up so much shit, I may as well follow up with things as I go along.
I will be ordering the Apexi S-AFC II unit in the next few days, and I already have dyno time scheduled for March 4th, Baton Rouge, 9AM.
I will install the AFPR this week, and the 25mm MC as well (it's been on the shelf too long and while I'm doing all the mods, may as well finish this one too). Then, I have got to install a new clutch, and it's off to BR on Friday, March 3rd. Crash at Branden's, have a few Amberbocks and get up early for the dyno fun.
We'll see what happens. Should be fun.(and I mean that in a really r3v sort of way)

I liked the mod because it helped me sell my motor faster :)
I swapped in an 027 AFM and it ran like dog shit. I had to put an m20 board in it for the motor to run correctly FWIW.
Just watch your costs Robert, dont spend the value of a MAF swap.

Look, I won't argue that point that MAF > afm. Not much point in that. BUT, unelss you've seen that the afm tuned with a safc is not effective firsthand proven with poor dyno results to back it up, then it's yet again, just more supposition on your part.
As of right now, I am NOT going to go with the Apexi unit. I've decided to just tune with the AFPR and leave it at that. IF I need to, later on add something, it would most likely be a MAF. I may do that eventually anyway. IF I had known that this would wind up being as involved as it is, I probably would have just waited and gone MAF to begin with.
No regrets though, this is a learning process, and I've already learned much. So, I am happy that I've gone ahead with this particular install.
Now, does anyone know how to or know where a good write-up is on the installation of the AFPR? I don't have any diagrams or instructions, but need to get this on ASAP. Oh, and Dave's site is not detailed enough to answer what I need to know.

Good luck with the dyno tuning, I think you will be glad that you did it.
