    So I could get away with ripping out the pump and connecting the "fuel from tank" line to "fuel from engine" line? Just getting a 8mm->12mm barbed reducer?

      Probably. Unless the 12mm line exploded because it's old and not made for 43 psi...

      then it would explode in a fireball that would consume at least half a town.

        well this looks to be alot more difficult than expected. I will probably buy two new bosh pumps, i figured a bunch of people have successfully executed this.

            Completely successfully. Car runs great.

            "all" I had to do was to drop the tank and re- plumb it...

            ...and get a return line rigged!
