Wow great info here! I didn't know there was an adapter bracket available, so that's good news for my A/C project. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the LC Wylie feedback. Thinking about getting one for when my cabrio's Seiko compressor gives up. The LC Wylie M30 brackets were out of stock for a while and I don't want that to happen with the M20 brackets when I need one.

Old thread. I know. Has anyone been able to find a new r134 compressor & M20 bracket combo that works and is still available to buy?

Re: 92 & 93 vert AC compressors as r134 - For what it's worth, I snapped a pic of the compressor in my '93 before I sold it, and the part number was 64528391152

    Help

I really am in need of your help. Do you know where I can find a used bracket for a BMW M21 to Sandin 508 seen/ used on this thread? I need the exact bracket that you have on this thread.

this is 100% accurate. An r12 compressor with 134 compatible seals is still an r12 compressor. Without the updated r134 seals it will soon be no compressor. The expansion valve must also match the refrigerant for a fighting chance at good performance.

My sanden compressor has a one electrical connection nipple. It looks like it can fit into the 3 pronged inlet where the old compressor plugged into, but that would leave 2 prongs exposed. Am I supposed to reuse the connector from my old compressor?

Sorry if I dont make any sense.

The one I have is bad so I dont even have the option to try and convert.

ECS Tuning has two options they claim to fit the M20:

The latter I believe. The conversion service bulletin, which I have somewhere, lists the year, models and compressor PNs which are "r134 compatible". Some latter cars also had barrier hoses which is a big plus

Good thing is the supporting bracket looks to be the same, part# 64 52 1 717 007 so this could be a direct fit. ECS Tuning has it for $637 here. The more time I spend trying to find a solution the more attractive the price looks ;)
Found a 93 vert at a pick and pull, but the compressor was a Seiko R12. Now I'm thinking that the 12r compressor are just 134 compatible and not really a true 134 compressor. I think I'll just rebuild what I have.

any 134 replacement compressor will need a bracket designed for it. I bought one of the last APG kits from Amazon and it was specific to a Seltec. The upgrade I did on an M10 was for a Sanden 508.

I will look in to making these when I come up for air, assuming there is enough interest
