    Name the hose

I am rebuilding my E30 motor (M20) and seeing there is a hose that runs along the block and enters the block by closest to the firewall. It is broken but not sure what hose it it called so I can replace it.

It appears to be one of the throttle body heater hoses.

If you have the later model cooling system (your info shows you have a 1988 model), it's #19 on the attached diagram http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_1167

Not that it matters, but those hoses are the same late/early.

But it shouldnt matter what the year it is, the hose is still the same. Throttle Body Heater bypass. Thanks for the help. I could not figure that out.

From what I am seeing from real OEM, the hose I am seeing that is broken is #19, is that still the Throttle body Return? Since it was mentioned that it was hose number 18

Sorry one more question, where have you been able to find this hose if you have purchased it? I have looked at Pelican Parts, Autozone, Oreillys ,napa and have not been able to locate it. When I searched that part more it came up as a Throttle Body Breather hose. That sound right?

Go to RealOEM and put in your vin number. Copy down the part number and send it to Pelican or Blunttech and they'll make sure that you get the correct part.

#18 is the throttle body heater hose that runs form the thermostat housing to the thermostat.

#19 is the throttle body heater hose that runs from the throttle body to the block.

                              I said #19 ... :D
