    what kind of power levels have been reached with the m20 (and have it still be able to be consided an m20)

      I would say about 250 hp at the crank.

          Aggressively ported head
          Larger valves
          Lightened and blueprinted internals
          High C/R
          Dbilas multi TB intake
          Aftermarket engine management
          Upgraded fuel system
          Extensive exhaust work

          When all is said in done, IF you manage 250hp, it likey wont be overly street friendly, and pump gas wont be its friend.

                Yeah, just toss a 302 cam in there with 12mm lift. That should do it.

                  shit i thought you could make more than that NA. Heres an example: 171 base+24(JC chip)+10-20 full exhaust+ 41 Dinan intake manifold + 15 cams valve work ect... Thats 266 conservatively. Now the Dinan manifold may be less, but their claim is 41, correct me if im wrong on all of this.

                    a m20 build to the limits of street friendlyness has less hp then a s50 with a intake & chip.

                      I'd say with a 15k budget, ~240-250 crank hp would be tops.

                      3 litre crank, ITB's, MAF, high comp pistons, 288-302 cam, etc.

                        The "Gran Tourismo" method of modding doesn't work in real life.

                        The conforti chip on the 2.5 M20 gets you about 14 hp, a full header system with an exhaust nets you about 5 hp, cams depend on the rest of the motor, and that Dinan head peice has been pretty much shot down by every reputable source.

                          you should mention that the JC chip doesn't give you 15hp peak, but 15hp in other areas of the powerband (effecively giving you more area under the curve)
