If there wasn't such a bolt, I'm not sure how you'd lock the outer half of the race in place.

      Definitely a bit weird.

Does the dust cap fit over the bolt arrangement?
I agree that solution is a bit weird, especially considering the fact that the factory torque spec for the front nut is a little over 200 ft/lbs and the bearing needs that torque in order to be proper and not wobble about at speed...I really don't see how a smaller bolt tightening against the nut and spindle end will suffice.

Ok, so got more info, the bearing-holding nut has to be tightened the same as stock one, ie 210 ft/lbs, where as the M16x1.5LH nut - is a locking nut, it is tightened in the other direction. The manufacturer told me that most people don't even use the locking-nut, they just glue the bearing nut, but just to be sure they recommend using the locking nut.

Do you have to remove the dust shields for this to fit? I held up an E46 325i rotor I had to the front hub and it interfered with the dust shield before anything else.

Just curious, but ditching the shield is not a big deal.

Yes, unfortunetly the dust shield has to go.

Saw this in FS section. Did anyone try your product yet? I'm interested as I have e36 m3 rotors and calipers, but want to see reviews first.

Note the OP says non-m3 e36/46 brake options.
