    rear hardline fittings question

I'm replacing the rotted lines and have gotten to the back end.

My question, the 3-way union mounted near the subframe connected to the steel line from the front... is that a Tee union or a balance/proportioning valve?

    Just a tee

yeah, I tried to order one and was shot down. It's brass (?) so it doesn't rot anyway.

Yep, usually they are salvageable. I needed one to split my front brake line, it's surprisingly difficult to find an m10x1.0 bubble flare 'T'. No car manufacturer besides BMW seems to use them.

Only if you use double inverted flare tube nuts on it, won't work with factory bubble flares. It would work fine, but some people may wish to keep everything uniform on the car.

+1. If you use that, put a tag on the fitting with a note.

Didn't realize it was the wrong type, I thought that "(bubble/ISO)" meant it would work.

He linked to an ISO/Bubble flare union, why would you want double flares going into your bubble flare union

I appreciate ALL this. way more than I expected.

Since I'm replacing every inch of brake line on the car, I'll probably go with a more standard fitting.

Apologies, I confuses DIN for the inverted flare.
