Do not buy G60 shocks.

then get camber plates and make spacers for the springs. those are your only two real options.Comment

Nice pic
the important thing for uber e30 to notice is, the green distance would not change by simply adding a shorter insert. that is why suspension travel would be the same.Comment

Yeah that is a pretty nice pic... think im understanding it better now. What you're telling me is that when i bottom out its actually the green part fully compressing and not the piston hitting the bottom of its travel?
Makes total sense to me now... wish i knew this before i bought my 60/50's and shocks. Coilovers it is...-Alex

That is correct sir. The bottoming out is your upper shock mount hitting your bump stop, or even your springs maxing out. From the look of your drop in your sig, that's more then 60mm up front which means, I'm guessing, you cut a coil.
My front's down around 4in and it's only a little lower then that.Comment

Then how are you bottoming out? 60mm drop does not = bottoming out unless your shocks are toast or your spring rates are 200Comment
-
I've heard of people cutting down their bumpstops post lowering. I don't know how good of an idea that is. Maybe someone can chime in.
What are the rates on the lowtecs?Comment

soft and low on bad roads = bad ride quality. I improved my ride quality while tripling my spring rates because I'm not crashing on the bump stops anymore.
you can probably cut them in half and still be ok. make sure you keep the thicker end.
I removed my rear bump stops entirely (konis) but I'm pretty sure if I manage to fully compress 700# springs and run out of rear suspension travel, I'll have much much bigger issues to worry about.Comment

They were great when I had it up a couple inches for the winter though, so I may keep them.Comment

i have 60/40 fk with billie sports and don't bottom out very often. it is actually very stiff up front.
