Does this look normal to you?

????? any comprehension of suspension at all? changing the settings of konis has absolutely nothing to do with ride height!
rear springs have dead coils. they don't do anything to support the car, so they touch. it's completely normal.
I feel sorry for the OP, asking a pretty simple tech question and getting completely wrong answers from all the noobs. If you don't have a clue don't open your mouth..
right. they do have dead coils. they are meant to sit on eachother but not 4 at a time. I have seen plenty of H&R race springs installed and they look nothing like that.
Quit being a dick and jump off your R3V high horse. All i was trying to do was give a possible cause to his situation.
I have seen a problem similar to this one with IE3 springs and it was because the guy installed his old beat shocks. So since i have seen it once, I recommended he check that. Is that a crime?

Spring pads are not going to change how many coils are binding or not binding. Spring pads are literally a pad that goes between the trailing arm and the spring and in effect raises the car slightly. think about it, essentially making the trailing arm thicker isn't going to cause the spring to decompress.
That said, I've never been in contact with the Race springs so i have no idea how much they should be compressed.Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.

oo i see. thanks man! i need to get 2 sets of pads asap
He was talking about those specific coils. Not the springs as a whole.

Relax fellas we're just trying to help each other with ideas. The spring pads aren't going to keep the coils from binding but they will increase the ride height slightly and give the shocks more room to work with. Go to a junkyard or find someone parting a car and grab the pads from a donor car. Just get the rears (4), for a little more rake.
