NOPE!!! My front bar still doesn't fit. My trusted shop put my car on a frame stretcher, and verified the measurements of my car. No dice. My guy said "we could stretch it out, but i'm not sure if all four wheels would touch...that's how far out we'd have to do it to get your bar on..." So although i'm in the minority, i'm starting to be a little more believing of IE's front bar(s). Best of luck!!! I'm screwed!!!
Your trusted frame stretcher is either off or wrong. That or they are basing their numbers off of the frame rails (which will not sag over time). To get a true measurement of your frame, your car must not have any suspension pieces connected, all points are tied into the frame roller. I highly doubt that your shop did it so thoroughly. Again, the frame does not have to be out of wack for the strut towers to be sagging. If your car was in an accident, the chances of damage are even greaterComment

It is possible the strut bar it self is faulty?
PS does your car do allot of straight line mileage?

If you are having *that* much trouble getting the bar on, I'd be asking myself some questions.
I'd say, sell the bar to Jordan and get an IE bar.
-a-Originally posted by e304lyfeheard it all before.. still don't believe it. if IE truely believed this, they would track down what years and models have the different distances.
i have heard many people with many different year and model e30's complain about having a hard time getting the bar to fit. is this to say BMW randomly changed the distance between the strut towers throughout the years the e30 was produced?
i think not... IE just makes a bar that compensates more for cars that have tweeked or worn bodies.
anyway... to answer the initial question.. be a man and muscle the bar on. little pushing and prying and it will go on.Originally posted by greg1333According to Ireland Engineering there are two different strut tower distances on the e-30 chassis'. Go to their website and look at there strut bar and it will explain what I am talking about.Originally posted by aaron_silvaAlready been discussed 3000000000 times. Not sure. I was merely pointing out that the tidbit of information had been brought up many times within this thread.Comment
